1. Login as ‘Admin’ or member of Administrator Group.
  2. Click on ‘Admin’ to go to the Admin Page.
  3. In the ‘Admin’ Page, click on ‘System Settings’.
  4. In the ‘System Settings’ Page, click ‘Capture Settings’ to show Capture Settings Options.
    • Under ‘Capture-Type Visibility’, click to CHECK or UNCHECK the specified Capture Types (DirectScan, QCard,… )
      • If CHECKED, the specified Capture Type will show as an option for Capture Type in the Capture Page for ALL users.
      • If NOT CHECKED, the specified Capture Type will not show as an option for Capture Type in the Capture Page for ALL users.

 

Capture Types –

 

        • DirectScan™ allows users to capture documents from a scanner connected to your computer.
        • Electronic capture allows users to upload files from your computer to Content Central™.
        • QCards™ contain barcodes and can be printed for network scanners and/or batch scanning.
        • Form capture allows users to generate new documents using a PDF Form templates.
    • Click ‘PDF Electronic Capture Settings’ to show PDF Electronic Capture options.
    • Under ‘PDF Electronic Capture Settings’, click to CHECK or UNCHECK the PDF Capture Options.
      • If CHECKED, the specified PDF Capture Option will show as an option for ALL users when electronically capturing a PDF file.
      • If NOT CHECKED, the specified PDF Capture Option will not show as an option for ALL users when electronically capturing a PDF file.
      • If only 1 (one) option is CHECKED, the option will not show. The PDF document will be processed based on that 1 option that is checked.

 

PDF Capture Options –

        • Capture file in original form – The PDF document will be left as-is and committed to the catalog with the document properties supplied. If the document does not already contain OCR text for full-text searching, the only information that will be searchable will be the document properties.
        • Convert to a fully-searchable PDF – The PDF document will be converted to a new PDF document that contains field values and document properties and OCR for full-text searches.
        • Make fully-searchable, but leave file in original form – The PDF document will be processed for OCR text, but the file will remain in its original format. The field values or document properties will be stored in the Content Central database.

 

  1. Click ‘Apply’ at the bottom of the ‘System Settings’ Page to apply the changes.
